The mySoil app is provided by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC). In using our mySoil app you as a user ('you') are accepting our terms of use.

All information provided by NERC, the British Geological Survey (BGS) and the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (CEH) in its mySoil app is made available to provide immediate access for the convenience of interested persons.

NERC software is provided 'as is' without warranty of any kind, either express or implied. mySoil was developed by BGS. Please see the BGS software disclaimer for further information.

The ownership of all intellectual property and associated rights in the mySoil app software and all associated mapping is at all times retained by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) except where the mySoil app:

• Contains OpenStreetMap data ©
• Contains Ordnance Survey data © Crown and other party copyright and database rights.
• Contains data from the European Commission, Joint Research Centre, European Soil Data Centre (ESDAC).
• Contains data provided by the Met Office.

The information in mySoil is made available to be viewed within the mySoil app for any purpose.

No part of any extracts from the data held within mySoil, nor any part of any mapping displayed within mySoil, may be traded, sold or in any other way supplied/made available to any other person.

Neither NERC nor its employees gives any warranty as to the quality or accuracy of the mySoil app (which includes any mapping or material contained within the application, as well as any associated software downloaded onto your mobile or other electronic device), or its suitability for any use. All implied conditions relating to the quality or suitability of the mySoil app, its associated software and mapping, and all liabilities arising from the supply of the mySoil app (including any liability arising in negligence) and for any reliance on results arising out of use of the mySoil app, are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.

• general information provided as part of NERC's statutory role in publicising its activities and disseminating of information relating to its organisation

The NERC privacy policy is made available. The mySoil app does not record any personal information and it is not possible to identify users of the app. The mySoil app contains functionality that makes use of the user's current location as determined by their mobile device. The mySoil app asks users to confirm their permission to use this information about their current location before proceeding.

By uploading and depositing photos or other materials on to the mySoil app, you, as depositor, do so on the understanding that anything deposited may be freely used/re-used by others accessing the mySoil app.

• to ensure that all photos and/or other materials being deposited are owned by you (or you have all necessary permissions to deposit them); and
• to understand that liability regarding use/re-use of anything you deposit may lie with you as depositor.
